MMS for Unlocked iPhone OS 3.1.2

Posted on January 24, 2010 / Technology

My iPhone running OS 3.1.2 on T-Mobile stopped receiving/accepting MMS messages one day. It took me a few days to figure it out, but after I came across a modmyi.com forum topic I was able to fix the issue. Here’s what I came up with:

  1. Open Cydia
  2. Goto Manage > Sources and add Sinful iPhone Repo (google to find the exact url) then add the Source
  3. Goto Search (in Cydia) and search for “MMS and Tethering Settings 5.6” > install it
  4. Reset your network settings by Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
  5. Restart your iPhone
  6. Go back to Settings > General > Cellular Data Network and restore your old Data Network settings (APN: epc.tmobile.com or wap.voicestream.com)
  7. Restart your iPhone

If you’re wondering why I reset then restarted and then set the Network settings and then restarted…the answer is simple, it just worked. And if it worked for me, it would probably work for some of you too.

Enjoy!
